Who doesn't wish they had their own fire onboard at all times?? I only hope he has some graham crackers and chocolate to go with his toasted marshmallows.

I had the luxury of an afternoon free of other commitments today, so I was able to spend more time on today's painting. Rufus was inspired by the critter found nestled in one of the centerpieces at my niece's recent wedding. He was named by my cousin (although the name may have been intended for the plant under which he was hiding). I love the connection to family and the memories this image evokes.
Another day, another elephant. Gotta love a pachyderm picnic. Wonder what's in the news... I'm guessing he's reading the comics. :)
This little guy was the suggestion of one of my favorite people. I have no idea of the significance to her, but I hope he meets her expectations.
I can't believe I'm halfway through this challenge! It's pretty exciting to think about how much I've learned and how much I have left to learn. So far, only a couple of major missteps that could not be turned into happy accidents. Not too shabby! I hope you enjoy this sunset at the beach. As for me, no time to relax -- 50 down, 50 to go!
Here I am again posting two days in one. I had a quick and fabulous trip out of town and neglected to take along my power cord, so you get a two-fer!! The first is fairly self-explanatory. I mean, who else would a burger dance with? The second is in celebration of my first great-niece on my side of the family, who will be born this fall. I can't wait to meet her!!
Success!! For the most part, anyway. I decided that I liked the original sketch enough to try Sad Girl again and to do my best to make her happy. She certainly doesn't look exuberant, but she is a far sight better than the original. This time I used a lighter touch with much better results!
