Prompt today: Cloud
To many, this may make no sense whatsoever. However, this was the first thing that popped into my head -- and my daughter's -- when I saw the prompt. So many sweet memories are all tied up in this little bear all stuffed with fluff! For those of you otherwise uninitiated: "Tut, tut, looks like rain . . . I'm just a little black rain cloud, hovering under the honey tree. I'm only a little black rain cloud, pay no attention to little me. Everyone knows that a rain cloud never eats honey, no, not a nip. I'm just floating around, over the ground, wondering where I will drip."

A Piggy Prompt: Filthy
Who could have more fun than a pig in a mud hole? Not too many folks! I remember the joy of splashing in puddles and making mud pies. Fortunately, except for one regrettable cornfield incident, my mother never squelched that fun. On a side note, I asked for a pink baby pig (Yes, I realize that would technically be called a piglet. Give me a break, I was 6!) for my sixth birthday and I'm still waiting for THAT delivery. Maybe this year. . . :) Prompt for today: Graceful
The first image that popped into my mind with today's prompt was a ballerina. However, I figured I wouldn't be the only one who had that idea and never being one to follow the crowd, I went with my second idea. Swans are lovely and graceful -- and mean. That doesn't keep me from admiring their unique beauty. :) Prompt today: Fat
There were many suggestions as to what I should draw/ink today. The sweetest (see what I did there?), the one that spoke to me, was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Not only because I appreciate the multitude of uses: s'mores, fluff, in hot cocoa and fudge. . . ah, the possibilities, but also the sweet memories of watching Ghostbusters with my daughter. We may have even indulged in one or more of the aforementioned treats. Today's prompt: Mysterious
In my mind, this young girl is draped in deep purples, metallic threads, luxurious finery. The ornaments on each layer of fabric sparkle and jingle with movement. Her eyes are deep, nearly black, but with fire and life. Can't you just imagine the stew boiling over the campfire as the tendrils of smoke curl toward the sky? Prompt Du Jour: Fierce
Working in just black and white can be a challenge -- but it's a really good skill to have! As with my watercolor challenge, this is something I would like to improve upon. Inktober is a perfect place to start and seeing the amazing work other participants are producing is such an inspiration. Head over to Twitter or Instagram and search for #Inktober. I think you'll be impressed, too. Today's Prompt: Teeming
Yeeeeaaaah. . . I got nothin'. I just couldn't come up with a clear idea for this prompt, so I went off the ranch. I hope you enjoy my little meander off the beaten track. :) Prompts: Sword, Shy, Crooked, Screech, Gigantic
I took a bit of a break for a couple of reasons: 1) Because I spent a wonderful, fun-filled weekend with extended family at the homestead, which has been lovingly and meticulously restored by my aunt and uncle, and 2) I had no internet service for a few days and I haven't quite figured out how to post to my blog from my phone. I have Twitter and Instagram on lockdown, but blogging, not so much. So as not to inundate anyone with all the missing posts, I have chosen to post days six through ten. I will be completely caught up and back on track tomorrow. :) Day 5: Long
Okay, okay, I know it's technically day six, but I did complete it before midnight on day five. This was a very full day and I was determined to get this little doggie posted. :) |
